Alex Yakirevich joined Pier Capital in 2004 with a strong analytical foundation from NYU Stern, but it was Pier that transformed his interest in investing into a craft.
He calls the experience "Pier Capital University," where his academic knowledge met practical judgment. Through questioning company managements or sell-side analysts, "What drives their growth?" and "What are the catalysts?", he learned how to build long-term investment themes.
Twenty-two years later, the satisfaction of applying a disciplined process and seeing it work is what gets him excited about his job. Money is the cherry on top.
