Transformative Catalysts. Lasting Themes. Institutional Insight in Small-Cap Investing

Themes

Proudly Serving Clients Since 1987

All themes start with a company and a catalyst that few investors, if any, are paying attention to. As bottom-up investors, our themes emerge, naturally, from the bottom up, and are not sector plays.

A theme is what happens when one technology shift forces adjacent industry growth, before opportunities become widely recognized. When we see the same type of catalyst driving growth across multiple holdings, that idea graduates from a single company insight into a broader theme.

Not all stocks are thematic; approximately 30-35% of the portfolio are in businesses where see great growth and revenue potential, but do not fit into a thematic category.
